Nine Inch Nails' Reznor: "New NIN coming in 2016"

Nine Inch Nails' Reznor:

An early Christmas present for Nine Inch Nails fans - Trent Reznor has confirmed that the project will return in 2016.

"New NIN coming in 2016", the bandleader tweeted today (Dec. 18).

The 50-year-old musician promoted his new coffee table book, Cargo in the Blood, which features original artwork by British artist Russell Mills, some of which was created for Hesitation Marks. The band's last album, Hesitation Marks came out in 2013 and was mostly synth-based, not that we're complaining. Limited to just 2,000 copies, the book is available to pre-order here.

Trent Reznor took to Twitter to share the good news.

Reznor served as Chief Creative Officer for Beats prior to its acquisition by tech giant Apple. "And I went through a period of 'tour, tour, tour'. Things right after another, with scores and what I've been doing whilst working on Apple music here is what I call "laboratory time", more experiments without any definite agenda".

In a June interview with Rolling Stone, Reznor talked about new NIN material he was working on: "It's not for a thing, it's not a record I'm trying to finish in a month", he explained.
