Emma Watson wants you to join her feminist book club!

Harry Potter star and former Headington School pupil Emma Watson has announced the name of her new feminist book club - 'Our Shared Shelf'.

Having played the role of notorious book lover Hermione Granger, Emma Watson is no stranger to the literary world.

"As part of my work with UN Women, I have started reading as many books and essays about equality as I can get my hands on", she wrote in her first message on the forum.

Readers can join the club at Good Reads, where Emma has explained why she made a decision to set it up and open it to anyone who wants to join.

As for what might be the first book on the docket, after Wambach asked for nominations, Watson elected noted American feminist Gloria Steinem's latest memoir, My Life on the Road, a collection of the author's reflections on her life and activism. She elaborated, "I've been discovering so much that, at times, I've felt like my head was about to explode". Also, she might be inviting Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling and singer Taylor Swift to sign up; how many times can you say you're in the same club as them?

Extending an invitation to all the muggles of the world she ended the note with, "If you fancy it, please join up and participate". During the launch of the HeforShe campaign, she delivered an inspiring speech about gender equality.
