Cam Newton defends himself for not diving on fumble

"The grind of the game wore [Newton] down", said Ware, who was credited with two of those sacks-one closing out the second quarter just before Coldplay, Bruno Mars, and Beyonce, the halftime entertainment, took the stage. Tuesday, however, Newton stopped to talk with the media while cleaning out his locker at Bank of America Stadium. "That's all I can say about it. Porter made a heck of a play". Nor will it silence those who dislike Newton and have been outspoken in the days since the Panthers lost.

"I didn't get the fumble, but we can play tit for tat", Newton said at his locker on Tuesday. So I got smart eventually I could rip those off pretty quickly. "I think that is what happens". "Time is probably the best thing". I had a great day today in Disneyland.

"As far as trying to be like this person, trying to be like that person... the truth of the matter is I'm not trying to be like this person".

"I think he's matured", Elway said about Miller. As he was speaking, teammates stood around him, shouting "we love Cam". I'm not going to worry about that.

I'll be honest. I'm not buying all of this hoopla regarding Cam Newton and his lack of class and sportsmanships because he didn't want to stick around and answer the same stupid questions after losing Super Bowl 50. Yes, Newton was wrong, but he wasn't the only one - as if that absolves him of the commitment he had to his team, fans and the National Football League to be professional in that press conference. As the game went on, I saw their attitude and their temper started to flare. However, you must pay close attention to what they say and what they do.

Because of what we presume our quarterbacks to be, Newton doesn't make sense to many. You show me a good loser and I'm going to show you a loser.

Aqib Talib, the cornerback who helped keep Panthers tight end Greg Olsen quiet during the Super Bowl, claims that Newton's attention-seeking personality motivated the Broncos to stop him.

"There are a lot of young people out there looking at who we are, and we are role models for them", Rivera said. The defensive play of game MVP Von Miller alone forced Newton into throwing high, off target, errant passes.

Because this was the Super Bowl, Newton was forced into the interview room a little sooner than normal. The former Vols star was a recruit even before my time but was clearly a five-star prospect back in 1994.
