Halo 6 to be Available on Windows 10 for Free

Microsoft has been under fire recently for pushing its own Windows 10 store as the main distribution channel for PC games, but in a recent interview on the sidelines of the E3 gaming conference in Los Angeles, Xbox chief Phil Spencer reveals that Steam will continue to play a key role in this regard too. If you buy their games on Xbox One, you'll get them on PC as well (and vice versa). Some of them are listed below. After those periods, the game may appear on other platforms such as Steam and PS4. The fan favorite zombie first-person shooter game "Left 4 Dead" and first-person puzzle-platform game "Portal 2" will be coming all the way from previous generation consoles to the Xbox One and will now be playable on the console.

As to why Halo 5 was not brought onto the PC, Spencer said, "Honestly the answer with Halo 5 is, I can go take last year's game, rework it to go on PC, or I can have 343 look forward in what they're going to go do".

It'll be interesting to see which PC games Microsoft chooses to release on Steam.

They will be available to play via Xbox Play Anywhere, which allows players to buy a game for PC and then load or play it back on Xbox One and vice versa.
