MMA fighter Kimbo Slice dead at 42

According to police, officers were sent to Slice's home following his hospitalization, but they did not find any issues, MMAjunkie reported.

"UFC offers its honest condolences to Slice's family, friends and teammates at American Top Team".

"We were informed of his death and after review of the circumstances, we declined jurisdiction".

Famed street fighter and YouTube sensation Kimbo Slice (real name Kevin Furguson) died Monday at the age of 42.

He added that Slice "a charismatic, larger-than-life personality that transcended the sport".

Scott Coker, president of Bellator MMA, paid tribute to Slice last night, calling him a "gentle giant" and "devoted family man". His loss leaves us all with extremely heavy hearts'. He signed a deal with UFC in 2009 and appeared in season 10 of The Ultimate Fighter.

A cause of death wasn't immediately confirmed, but an unnamed family source told ET the he died of heart failure.

But his third fight as a pro became the first MMA fight to air on primetime network television, and he competed on the UFC series The Ultimate Fighter, and fought for the UFC twice.

He is now signed to Bellator MMA and was scheduled to fight against James Thompson on July 16 as a headliner for the Bellator 158 event in London.

Born in the Bahamas but raised in South Florida, Slice last fought and beat Dada 5000 at Bellator 149 in February, earning a technical knockout, but the win was overturned after Slice tested positive for a steroid.

After getting the right people's attention, Slice made his MMA debut in 2007 by beating former heavyweight boxing champion Ray Mercer.

The star who boxed between 2011 and 2013 with a 7-0-KO6 record was hailed by Rolling Stone as 'The King of the Web Brawlers'.
