Calvin Johnson To Compete On Next Season Of 'Dancing With The Stars'

The second overall pick of the 2007 draft, Johnson underwent finger and knee surgeries in recent years, and spent most of the last two seasons on the injury report with ankle problems.

ABC announced the cast for the forthcoming season of "Dancing With the Stars" on Tuesday and it includes the former Lions wide receiver.

Among the names competing against Johnson will be former Texas Governor Rick Perry, rap star Vanilla Ice, Indy auto driver James Hinchcliffe and Olympian Ryan Lochte.

Even though, apparently, he can't dance.

Calvin Johnson may be done playing football, but the former Detroit Lions receiver isn't straying too far from the spotlight. He joins Emmitt Smith, Von Miller, Antonio Brown, Hines Ward and other NFLers as contestants on the long-running show. The 30-year-old, who holds the record for most receiving yards in an National Football League season, will join Indy racecar driver James Hinchcliffe and Olympians Laurie Hernandez and Ryan Lochte as the athletes in the competition.
