Jurgen Klopp: "There's no big mountain for Daniel Sturridge"

It seems contradictory to suggest that an afternoon of frustration can be taken as a positive for Liverpool, but their draw against Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon was just that.

James Milner converted the penalty, sending Vorm the wrong way, to put Liverpool ahead at the half. "He will play and he will score and all will be good", he said.

It will now be a fortnight until Tottenham play again as they go on worldwide break, but Pochettino said he did not expect any exhausted players to come back any more well rested. "It wasn't only about pressing although we did that really well". We had wonderful moments of passing and direction.

"Yes, I wish we would have won it but now we have to accept the point and that's no problem because it's Tottenham".

They could have even won it with Toby Alderweireld's powerful header, which inspired the agile, twisting, save of the day from Mignolet.

The results leaves Tottenham with 5 points while Liverpool have 4. "It's a good team so hopefully we'll choose different line-ups for different games". But, the German opted not to bring in a full-back and chose to deputise James Milner as a left-back.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has hinted the Reds will not buy a new left-back before the transfer window closes next week.

Eventually the Reds would score in the 43rd minute but it was less about Spurs' awful defense (even though it was quite bad) and more about referee Bobby Madley calling a soft foul on Érik Lamela. However, Pochettino said that taking "risks" following the restart paid dividends.

"Full-back is not only a winger in offensive situations. He has still to adapt and learn the position", he said. Every outfield player has to be prepared to be buzzing for the 90 minutes.

It is certainly going to take more than just a couple of matches before the recently retired England global becomes comfortable in his new position and Milner has had to spend extra time studying up.

The Spurs captain was substituted before the end with the home side pursuing a victor and he seems to lack that sharpness which enabled him to turn the smallest opening into a goal last season. "And I think I ran the most miles ever in a game!" Danny Rose struck a late equaliser after the kind of familiar defensive error which cost them dearly last season as Milner's misjudged interception let Eric Dier in to cross. "I sign again to do the same". They had chances to win the match but we played much better. Michel Vorm saved them a few times.

Liverpool appeared to have doubled their lead after Spurs had been caught on the counter, but once Sadio Mane had tucked the ball home the flag went up for offside against Adam Lallana.

"Pochettino is a terrific manager, if you look at the way his teams play".

"I'm very happy with my squad".

'I want to see how far I ran because I have never been this exhausted after a game, ' Vorm said. We showed character today. But the market is never easy and for us it's hard.

"I am very pleased with the performance and the effort".
