EPL: Arsenal claim first season win at Vicarage Road

Speaking following his side's 3-1 win over Watford, Wenger admitted he was looking forward to welcoming Mustafi and Perez.

With just a week remaining of the transfer window, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had been once again criticised by fans for a lack of incoming activity.

Arsenal have completed the signing of Shkodran Mustafi, according to the German FA.

With his deal at Valencia on the verge of completion, the 24-year-old stated that it was due to Ozil's advice and inspiration that he chose to move to North London.

This is still an Arsenal team with plenty of flaws.

After Alexis Sanchez was fouled by Watford's Nordin Amrabat in the box it was Cazorla who took the awarded penalty shot.

Santi Cazorla played with Xhaka on Saturday and could easily stay there.

The Switzerland worldwide made his first start in the goalless draw at Leicester but shone as the Gunners beat Watford 3-1 at Vicarage Road. He didn't connect cleanly, but the ball did just about creep over the line. The Chilean worldwide then whipped in a cross in first-half injury time for Ozil to fire home a bullet header for a comprehensive 3-0 lead.

Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez proved that they are indeed world-class.

With only one major signing to bed in, this Arsenal team understands each other's strengths and weaknesses, and this might be a distinct advantage when it comes down to it. In midfield it is important for us to sometimes stretch the defenders.

Still, Granit Xhaka looks as if he's going to be a hit at the Emirates. The two were at the heart of most of Arsenal's creativity.

"An outstanding performance", Wenger continued.

Walcott was impressing from the right flank and only another great save from Gomes prevented the England man driving Arsenal further ahead - but it was only a short respite.

It is of course a little early for Watford to start panicking. 'He's a manager with a lot of experience in Italy and has a new challenge here.

Yet having said that, there was a buzz around the ground as Success was also introduced.

The Premier League season is a marathon and a not a sprint. "It's not a game you win four or five".

Their strikers are another concern.

Eden Hazard seemed to put his woes from last season behind him on the match's opener, scoring a goal that is vintage Hazard.

"In the end, the second half was tougher". He looks as though he's spent the summer exclusively bench-pressing in the gym, a much more bulky physique seeming to restrict his movement.

"We had to work very hard to get signings done", Wenger said. This is their fourth game of the season, with three defeats and one draw. "The organisational things are still missing and two starting players were out last-minute and this really didn't help", Mazzarri said.
