Intel chief speaks to Trump, but distrust continues

Trump appeared to dismiss the report in another tweet 40 minutes earlier, simply writing: "FAKE NEWS - A TOTAL POLITICAL WITCH HUNT".

And Paul Manafort, a former chairman of the Trump campaign, did some lobbying work for pro-Russian politicians in Ukraine.

Trump said during the press conference that the memos "should never have been written, should never have been released".

"But we also get hacked by other countries and other people, and I can say that".

Though Trump denies having any business holdings in Russian Federation or any commercial relationships there, many in the media have contradicted that claim. "You know, I have long been a supporter of a free and independent press and I always will be", Pence intoned.

In a sit-down interview Thursday with NBC News, Putin press secretary Dmitry Peskov forcefully denied Russian Federation had tried to influence the presidential election in an effort to help Trump win the White House.

President-elect Trump escalated his feud Wednesday with the USA intelligence community, claiming that it was "disgraceful that the intelligence agencies allowed any information that turned out to be so false and fake out".

In the 18 hours leading up to Trump's news conference, the press had been busy obsessing over BuzzFeed's controversial publication of a dossier containing salacious, and unverified, claims about his relationship with Russian Federation. "I just want to compliment numerous people in the room", he said.

Wyden then asked FBI Director James Comey, "Has the FBI investigated these reported relationships, and, if so, what are the agency's findings?"

"Intelligence agencies should never have allowed this fake news to "leak" into the public".

The "fair report privilege" protects news organizations that accurately report allegations made in official documents or reports. Shaub said Trump should commit to "divestiture", a process under which he would sell his corporate assets and place the profit in a blind trust administered by a neutral trustee approved by the OGE. "Obamacare is the Democrats' problem", Trump said. But not one of the analysts, who included veteran journalists and Kremlin-connected consultants, said they had any way to judge the veracity of the extraordinary claims now roiling political discourse in the US.

OBAMA: "In the course of a healthy debate, we prioritize different goals, and the different means of reaching them". He dismissed suggestions that USA taxpayers will have to ultimately fund the wall's construction, saying: "Mexico, in some form, will reimburse us and they will reimburse us for the cost of the wall". It was presented to Trump by intelligence officials last Friday, a practice that, while unusual, happens if officials believe an elected official needs to know such information exists and could be used against him or her.

Trump gave two small insights into his plans once he takes office.

Director of National Intelligence James Clapper phoned Trump Wednesday night.

Trump spent the rest of the news conference demonstrating his newfound respect for members of the press by taunting them, chiding them, and happily hurling insults at them.

A former British spy working for a Washington firm hired by a Democratic operative prepared the document on Mr. Trump that talks of his alleged sexual escapades in Moscow which were filmed by Russian spies. "I think it's a disgrace, and I say that ― and I say that, and that's something that Nazi Germany would have done and did so".
