Woman hits half-court shot, gets marriage proposal

First, there was the halfcourt shot to connect on during Thursday's game between Manhattan and Siena.

Little did she know, she was about to get another surprise of her life seconds later.

I think it's safe to say Erin Tobin had a pretty good Thursday.

Afterward, he removed the mascot head and proposed to her, to which she replied yes, the AP story said.

"I was jumping up and down after hitting the shot, since my brother said he'd give me $50 if I even hit the rim", Tobin told the Daily Gazette. As the coffee and doughnut chain's mascot stood nearby, the 30-year-old Siena graduate and season ticket holder banked in her half-court, one-handed heave. "And then I said to myself, of course she would hit the shot".

Duckett planned the engagement to take place during a men's basketball game in honor of Tobin's alma mater and her loyalty to the Saints basketball program.

She made the basket, but a bigger surprise was waiting. Tobin also won a $500 gift card to Dunkin' Donuts for making the shot.
