Giraffe Gives Birth At New York Zoo

An New York zoo entered the third day of live streaming a giraffe giving birth Saturday, according to PIX11.

A zoo in upstate NY has been live-streaming one of their giraffes getting ready to welcome her fourth calf, and millions of people around the world have spent days watching the giraffe standing in her pen.

"What this has done is pulled an educational tool away from tens of millions of individuals". But after thousands voiced their frustrations, YouTube restored the stream.

Park employees say giraffes are pregnant for approximately 15 months. The zoo plans to have a contest to name the calf once it is born.

This will be the the 15-year-old mom's fourth calf, and a first for her "hubby" Oliver. At birth it will weigh in at about 150 lb. and will stand at about 6' tall, Animal Adventure Park said. Five-year-old Oliver is the father.

When the calf arrives, the zoo says the front hooves will emerge first followed by the snout.
