Sony Xperia XZ Premium and Xperia XZs Release Date, Price and Specs

The phone has a 5.5-inch 4K (3840×2160) display, with a pixel density of 806 ppi, like the Z5 Premium.

Once again, we'll need to put a lot of this to test in our full review, but we did get to try out Sony's super slow motion video capture, and the results were very impressive indeed. This is why Sony chose to equip its smartphone with an impressive octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset.

There is microSD on board for further storage expansion and a 3230mAh battery runs the show, coupled with Sony's Stamina Mode and Battery Care software working in the background. The first and most interesting is the Xperia XZs, which features the exact same, new 19-megapixel Motion Eye camera system that's found in the XZ Premium.

The camera has been the Xperia series forte from long and the Xperia XZ Premium is no different. The company has unveiled a bunch of phones at the MWC, but at the top of the chart are the Xperia XZ Premium and Xperia XZs. It will be made available to purchase in three color variants namely Warm Silver, Ice Blue and Black colours.

Both the devices feature a 19MP, "Motion Eye" camera, that is capable of recording video at an uncomfortably slow 960fps. The Sony XZ Premium is also dust- and water-resistant, with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, and comes with Sony's native DSEE HX technology to up-scale music to near high-resolution audio. There will be single SIM, dual SIM, and nano SIM versions of the smartphone offered. You can use microSD cards up to 256GB to expand storage. The Xperia XZ Premium is no exception-it has a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with a 1/3.06-inch Exmor RS image sensor featuring an f/2.0 aperture, 22mm wide angle lens, and ISO 6400. The selfie camera is identical as well. Sony's big flagship is back, and one important thing has changed. The battery capacity of the device is 2,700 mAh, and it comes with Pump Express+ 2.0 fast charging support.

To begin with, Xperia has stuck with bezels, yes in a time when manufacturers are getting rid of the bezels, Sony begs to differ.

"A year on from unveiling our new brand direction and vision for the future of communications, not only are we announcing Xperia XZ Premium, equipped with the most advanced technologies to enhance the essential feature on smartphones, we're creating whole new interactive communication experiences with our Xperia Smart Products", said Hiroki Totoki, President and CEO, Sony Mobile Communications.

Just like its predecessor, the XA1 Ultra's 16MP front camera comes with optical image stabilisation and a dedicated LED flash. Under the hood the phone boasts specs that are going to be hard to beat this year, including a Snapdragon 835 CPU and 4 GB of RAM. "For selfies, the XA1 include an 8MP 1/4" sensor on the front with a 23mm wide-angle f/2.0 lens, autofocus, and SteadyShot stabilization.
