WWE: What to expect on SmackDown

WWE: What to expect on SmackDown

That is post-Wrestlemania, and a number of interesting things have been going down since the grandest show of them all. As such, they're not random at all and if nothing else, the trades happening are on a much smaller scale than the draft.

Last summer, the long-awaited brand split finally happened and the duos of Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley (representing RAW) and Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan (representing SmackDown Live) selected rosters for their respective brands. The former Smackdown Women's champion was ready to rock on the red brand and she was wasting no time targeting Bayley and her championship.

Last week on Raw, the genetic jackhammer himself, Vince McMahon, told us that there will be a superstar shakeup.

Bray Wyatt: As the No. 1 contender for the WWE title (contested on SmackDown), he will still fight champion Randy Orton for the title in a "House of Horrors" match at the Raw pay-per-view Payback in three weeks.

At WrestleMania, Gallows and Anderson lost their Raw Tag Team Championships to the Hardy Boyz and failed to win their championship rematch one night later. It's still a "maybe" at this point though.

Other rumors have Sasha Banks potentially moving to SmackDown instead of or with Charlotte. A brawl broke out after Nia Jax arrived on the scene and put all of them down. Or perhaps deal with Alexa Bliss?

However, now several sites are reporting why Nakamura went to Smackdown and not RAW. Will there be enough space for Roman? But that seems unlikely now that he's set to take on Braun Strowman at Payback later this month.

Feuds with Kevin Owens or Seth Rollins could be in Style's future, and he could potentially reunite with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. However, Bliss was also interrupted by her former aid, Mickey James.

Nia Jax def. Charlotte Flair by pin following a Samoan Drop.

Despite the sort of busted narrative here, this was an exciting show if only to see who showed up from the other brand.

How Will This Affect The Upcoming Draft?

It now looks like that SmackDown will now be the show that grooms the NXT stars as well as those not quite ready for the bright lights of RAW, and eventually, when officials feel they're ready, they'll move them up - but it really doesn't sound like a great idea.

Curt Hawkins' arrival on Raw doesn't exactly go as planned.

Every time Triple H gives the same quotes about NXT and the performance center, a collection of big wrestling fans on social media rolls their eyes, and mentions the names above as people who were already successful, and known to them. Management wants to make some changes after Wrestlemania 33.

Also, Dirty Deeds made an appearance the second the Miz got fed up and removed his Cena disguise.
