LeBron James shines but Cavs lose again

And, for good measure, they swept their season series against the defending champions, staying just one game out of the Eastern Conference playoff hunt.

Although the Cleveland Cavaliers did get the win over the Indiana Pacers on Sunday, there was reportedly a noticeable tension in the air.

Immediately following the game, James was forced to apologize both publicly and privately to teammate Tristan Thompson, who James had yelled at repeatedly during the game over issues he had with Thompson's help defense.

It's not clear what exactly spawned the confrontation as it came immediately after a Kevin Love three-pointer to put Cleveland up by four with less than 30 seconds remaining. The Cavs visit the Celtics on Wednesday. George finished with 43 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists.

Raptors 113, 76ers 105: Serge Ibaka scored 24 points and DeMar DeRozan added 17 as Toronto registered its ninth straight home victory over Philadelphia.

After going 7-10 in March, the Cavs began the season's final month with a solid win over a quality opponent.

That started the big James-Thompson argument, but the Cavs continued to execute at the offensive end, as a Love 3-pointer made it 131-127 with 26.5 ticks on the clock.

"I think the effort was there", James said. Thompson then walked away from his huddling teammates and sat on the scorer's table by himself. He's been accused of whining by opposing fans while winning three National Basketball Association titles and advancing to the Finals six straight seasons.

James entered needing 23 points to tie O'Neal and matched him when he scored on a layup with 7:29 left in the game.

George was a monster in the two overtimes, at one time outscoring James 16-0 before James buried a 3-pointer inside of one minute left. Nikola Mirotic, who seems to have found his shot late in the season, continues to be a tough matchup.

James, who had 41 points, 16 rebounds, and 11 assists, was George's primary defender, but the Pacers were running plays that forced Thompson to switch to George. Michael Jordan scored in double digits 866 straight times.

In the first half, the Pacers got off to a quick start thanks to the play of George, who threw down a thundering dunk over LeBron James to give In an 11-7 lead. He played four seasons for In from 2010-14 and is remembered for blowing into James" ear during the "14 Eastern Conference finals. "He came in and gave us some spark", coach Nate McMillan said. "You have to take that approach", he said.

"We're just in a bad spot right now". Korver has missed 11 of 14 games with the injury. Irving said Tyronn Lue told the starters they would be doing so to keep the team in rhythm.

Pelicans 117, Kings 89 DeMarcus Cousins had 37 points and 13 rebounds in his first game against the Kings, and the New Orleans Pelicans routed Sacramento.
