Vincent Kompany targets top-four spot and cup final

With United only drawing with Everton on Tuesday, Arsenal moved up to fifth, four points behind City with a game in hand, after a 3-0 home victory over struggling West Ham United - a first win in four for Arsene Wenger's side.

Chelsea fans loved it.

"I am happy for both of them because they deserve to play".

"Today the Premier League has gone", Guardiola said.

"I know this manager was in Greece [with Olympiacos] and we played in the Champions League when I was at Bayern Munich", he added.

Chelsea have a seven-point lead over Tottenham Hotspur with eight games remaining.

Midfielder Fabian Delph was another surprise starter for City, having been in and out of the team this season, suggesting Guardiola is looking at different options as he seeks a strong finish to the league season. They have a couple of hard games coming up.

"We are so polite in our defeats and especially we are so polite when we win".

However susceptible Caballero was for the opener, it was nothing compared to Thibaut Courtois' calamity when the Belgium goalkeeper inexplicably cleared the ball straight to David Silva.

A loose kick by home goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois - another Belgium global - enabled Sergio Aguero to level for City in the 26th minute.

The row - which did not become physical - was witnessed by Pep Guardiola. Caballero did dive correctly to save Hazard's penalty, but the winger was primed to slot in the rebound in the 35th minute as Chelsea completed the double over City this season.

Pep Guardiola conceded City's bid for the Premier League title was over after the loss at Stamford Bridge saw his side slip 14 points behind the leaders.

"I believe that we can win every game if we play like we did against Swansea - and then we'll see", said Pochettino, whose side host Bournemouth the following week.

And City in the wrong way.

John Stones spurned a stoppage-time opportunity to equalise for City, who must now recalibrate and focus on securing Champions League qualification.

City could still salvage the season by winning the FA Cup - otherwise it will be his first campaign without silverware. The Champions League is so important, qualifying will be a huge success from my point of view, and of course we have the FA Cup.

"We were not good enough to compete for the Premier League [title]". I'm a lucky man, to be manager of this club.

I think they have players with a lot of talent in the way they want to play offensively.
