Cleveland Browns have zeroed in on choice with No. 1 draft pick

Cleveland Browns have zeroed in on choice with No. 1 draft pick

Of course, any comment at this time of year should be taken with a grain of salt.

Who would you pick and why? They have five of the first 65 picks - first, 12th, 33rd, 52nd and 65th.

Reportedly, there is concern around the league that the Browns will mess up this draft by passing over Myles Garrett for a lesser rated player at the quarterback position.

I'll say this about Brown and Berry: They really worked hard to try not to give any clues. Malik Hooker from Ohio State might be hard to resist if he slips to 12. For example, the first pick is worth 3,000 points, the second is worth 2,600 points and the third is worth 2,200. It will be no surprise if the Browns don't take two.

The Browns also have the 12th overall pick, and they possibly could use that as trade bait to move up and take Trubisky if they select Garrett at No. 1. Cameron Erving, the 2015 first-round pick, failed at center past year but will get the chance to compete for the right tackle job.

"Whatever team gets him, particularly if it's us, would be proud to have him", Brown said. Both declared for the draft after only three years at their schools. Many see Garrett as a franchise changing defensive end who could be an anchor for the Browns defense for years to come. "We want to get those right". Out of USC, Kessler was truly a Hue Jackson pick. Trubisky passed for 3,748 yards with 30 touchdowns and just six interceptions last season. In his Texas A&M career, he notched 147 tackles (61 tackles for loss), 31 sacks, seven forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and one interception.

Garrett, a 6-foot-4, 272-pound sack specialist, is the consensus top player available and the Browns, who went 1-15 last season, will have first crack at him. If the Browns were going to search for their franchise QB it would have to be hometown hero Mitch Trubisky or National Champion Deshawn Watson.

Executive Vice President Sashi Brown confirmed that quarterback Brock Osweiler will compete for the starting quarterback job after being acquired in a trade with Houston. Trubisky is obviously a roll of the dice given that he only started one year for the Tar Heels, but he showed impressive accuracy, athleticism and pocket awareness in 2016. Instead, they hoped to trade him again for another draft pick.

Myles Garrett will be selected #1 overall.

Dane Brugler, No. 12: O.J. There are teams in desperate need of a quarterback, probably the most important position on the field. In the worst way.

The Browns worked out Trubisky and have spent a lot of time with him. Every team misses. So we don't want to get into a habit of turning two picks into one, so to speak.

ESPN draft guru feels Mitchell Trubisky could be an important part of the draft for the Chicago Bears.
