Goalkeeper Romero targets number one spot at Man United

Anderlecht warmed up for their Europa League quarter-final second leg with Manchester United with a light workout in a city centre park.

United were denied by a late equaliser as they drew 1-1 with Anderlecht in Brussels, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan scoring a vital away goal midway through the first-half.

Some of the Anderlecht team then set off for a light jog around the park, while another group walked past the individual filming their exploits, with one player excitedly waving at the camera as he went past.

United take on Anderlecht in their quarterfinal second leg at Old Trafford on Thursday.

Luke Shaw. The defender may be given a chance to finally prove himself under Jose Mourinho.

Last week's first leg was delayed by 45 minutes after fans clashed at Parc OL and Lyon's league game at Bastia last weekend was called off following a shocking attack on their players by rival supporters. Even if manager Rene Weiler elects not to rest any players for the Old Trafford visit, United have no such league aspirations to serve as a distraction. "You can not do miracles, so miracles I don't expect, but they have to try to do everything to accelerate the process".

"I don't know whether the game should be played behind closed doors or somewhere else, but it would be very unsafe for us to play with the same supporters [as in the first leg]", he said. Winning the competition would give United an automatic Champions League spot for next season.

Rashford's performance as up top against Chelsea would fit right into Mourinho's idea of a center-forward in many ways when we think back to some of the more successful forwards he has had across different countries, who were all defined by their hard-working/sacrificial nature as much as important goals.

"That's why Marcus Rashford, even without scoring goals, even without scoring in the league since September, even without that, he was always a player that I trust, always a player that I play, always a player that I support".

"He is my goalkeeper for tomorrow and he was my goalkeeper in other matches, but he is not my goalkeeper for the Europa League.I never like to do that, complete separation. If we had won 3-0 it would be a nice game now and I could play some of the younger boys without any pressure".

Outcome? When he did return, in December, Mkhitaryan scored in three consecutive games, helping United to wins in the Europa League, over Tottenham and Sunderland.

"He is obviously a great player, he can make the difference". "Yes, I think. But he needs to give me things that I like very much".
