Long Island weather: Unsettled weather brings showers Thursday

Severe thunderstorms may move through northeast Oklahoma, developing Thursday evening and continuing Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Tulsa.

High pressure begins to move in tonight ending the showers and bringing in clearing. Sunday looks nice with sunny skies, light northerly winds and high temperatures in the upper 60s. A north northwest wind of 6 to 11 miles per hour is in the forecast. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62.

Clouds will return into Thursday night, with a rain and possible a thunderstorm possible after 2 a.m. South wind 7 to 9 miles per hour. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

There's a 30 percent chance of rain after 4 p.m. Saturday and a 40 percent chance of rain Saturday night.

Today will feature warm and breezy weather for Dallas - Fort Worth with partly sunny skies.

There could be some fog early, but most of the day will be dry otherwise. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. On the other hand, many communities won't get a single drop of rain Friday. South wind around 5 miles per hour. West wind around 14 miles per hour.

Leftover showers will give way to slow clearing on Sunday, with much better weather moving in for next week. Cloudy, with a low around 45. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. Another round of rain showers, that will be heavy at times, will develop this weekend.
