Rams and Chargers 2017 NFL Schedule Announced

Rams and Chargers 2017 NFL Schedule Announced

The Los Angeles Rams will host the Washington Redskins during Week 2 of the National Football League schedule this fall.

The Rams kick off 2017 on September 10 with the Colts coming to down.

Last year was supposed to be the season in which Los Angeles emerged as contenders in the NFC after the potential surrounding the defense the year before, but that was obviously far from the case after they started off strong with a 3-1 record, only to lose 11 of their next 12 games. LA extended its home-game winning streak over Seattle to three after defeating the Seahawks in last year's season opener, which drew a crowd of more than 90,000 fans. Los Angeles has just one Thursday night matchup, and no Monday night games.

Seattle's preseason schedule came out last week. Both teams finish the regular season at home in Week 17 on December 31 as well. Followed by an away game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on October 15. The only time the Jets and Giants can play simultaneously in NY is when they are playing each other once every four years (preseason excluded).

Notes: The Rams have a bye week in Week 8, while the Chargers have their bye week in Week 9.

On Nov. 19, the Minnesota Vikings will host Los Angeles who is set to play its first regular season game at U.S. Bank Stadium. Since the AFL-NFL merger, the Chargers have not played on Thanksgiving. The Los Angeles reality of the next two season creates these unique scenarios where the Rams and Chargers are home the same weekend. The Rams lead the all-time series against the Saints, 40-32, which began in 1967. The Washington Post and others cited league sources saying Washington will host its NFC East-rival Giants on Thanksgiving night. The Rams head into the Week 13 matchup in search of their third-consecutive road win over Arizona.

How fast the Chargers bounce back after coming to Los Angeles remains to be seen, but many factors will play into that. The final road game is on Christmas Eve where they face the Tennessee Titans. The Titans won two of their last three meetings dating back to 2005, while the Rams lead the all-time series, 6-5. That means we will finally know what the Arizona Cardinals will be playing their games. For information about Rams season tickets and single-game tickets, fans may visit www.therams.com/tickets.
