Trump on Paris shooting: 'It just never ends'

US President Donald Trump on Thursday condemned the Paris terrorist attack, saying there is a need to stay strong and vigilant. "What can you say, just never ends", Trump stated.

The attacker shot at least two police officers, killing one, before being killed himself, according to the Associated Press.

"Again, it is happening again, it seems".

While noting that he had only just seen coverage of the still-developing event before entering the press conference, Trump said it was a "very bad thing that's going on in the world today". But it looks like another terrorist attack.

"We have to be strong and we have to be vigilant".

A police source said officers have issued a warrant for a second suspect who arrived from Belgium by train.

The president was mocked and criticized for labeling the shooting a "terrorist attack" before it had been confirmed by authorities.

The shooting has not officially been declared a terrorist act but anti-terrorist forces are leading the investigation, French President François Hollande said.

Thursday's attack comes days before the nation's presidential election on Sunday, which will take place under a state of emergency, which has been in place since November 2015.

ISIS has claimed credit for the attack.
