A Statham/Johnson Fast And Furious Spin-Off Could Be On The Cards!

The Fast and the Furious franchise may keep going even longer, with a spinoff potentially in the works. I pointed out in an editorial recently that Vin Diesel's Dom has become something of a wet blanket for the series, while Johnson's Hobbs and Statham's Shaw were what really made Fate a fun and compelling movie.

Joined by franchise stalwarts Roman (Tyrese Gibson) and Tej (Chris "Ludacris" Bridges), the crew heads to New York City, where some of the film's most spectacular auto action is set.

The main reason behind the feud was not money-related, rather an argument over who got more screen time in "Fate of the Furious". The new film would see the two forced to team up on their own. Emotion is what drives action in action movies; it's what invests you in the characters. Blackmailed with a secret from his past by the cyber-terrorist known as Cipher (Charlize Theron), he's forced to help steal a wayward EMP device as well as a set of nuclear codes. As reported by Deadline, the studio is prepping a spinoff film around the characters Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw, played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Jason Statham, respectively. The final moments of that film were so handsome that they took the franchise to a level never before thought possible. Overall, Cipher provides a threat to the crew and has just as many surprises as they do, and uses them to her advantage. Instead of mindlessly killing off Walker's character like many films do with actors and actresses who pass away, the cast members refer to Walker's character in a way as if he and his onscreen wife are trying to avoid the high octane life of being one of the fast and furious. By comparison, the film's $98.8 million opening is the second largest in the franchise and just a shade over the $97.4 million opening for 2013's Fast & Furious 6. "I know", she said "When [Deckard] was introduced, they didn't even think for us to give him any flack when he walked in". Many do not have time to go to the cinema so are happy to buy from us.

The Fate of the Furious saw three-day takings of $190m (£151m) in China. Starting with a thrilling street race in Havana, Cuba, we find our hero, Dom Toretto (one-expression thespian Vin Diesel), stuck between a rock and a hard place.

A huge row ignited on set a year ago and reports exposed an ongoing feud between the two main stars, action men Diesel and Johnson.
