'Noor' Box Office collection Day 1

'Noor' Box Office collection Day 1

The film revolves around a girl named Noor played by Sonakshi, a journalist frustrated with her personal life (weight issues, endless search for "her ideal match") as well as professional life.

Sonakshi Sinha's recent release "Noor" witnessed a tiresome start at the box office with a low collection of Rs 1.54 crore on its day of release. Trade experts had predicted a low opening for the film but none expected it to be so low.

Day 1 (Fri) - 1.54 Cr.

"Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#Noor has a boring start. Taran also mentioned how the film needs to "have a major jump over the weekend" to leave a mark.

The film is based on Pakistani author Saba Imtiaz's novel Karachi, You're Killing Me! and follows a Pakistani journalist-writer Noor's misadventures and love life as she navigates her way through Mumbai.

The film needs a big push at the box office to survive at the ticket window, but the mixed audience response and critics review hint that it will be hard for the film to show a big growth in its numbers over the weekend. The film, however, will have to fight it out with Raveena Tandon's comeback film Maatr, which also released this weekend.

The opening day figures of Sonakshi Sinha, Kanan Gill, Purab Kohli and Shibani Dandekar starrer Noor are out and they're not impressive. The film, released on Friday, April 21, had received mixed response from critics.
