American Airlines Mother Struck By Stroller Tried Fitting Large Buggy On Plane

The confrontation between the men quickly escalates with the attendant heard telling the passenger: "Hit me".

The airline said in a statement it was investigating the confrontation that began shortly after noon on Friday when the woman's baby stroller was removed from a jetliner during boarding at San Francisco International Airport (SFO).

A passenger who posted a description of the latest incident on the website Reddit wrote that the flight attendant early on called for security to intervene in his dispute with the woman.

A video posted to Facebook on Friday by Surain Adyanthaya - a passenger onboard American Airlines flight 591, from San Francisco to Dallas - shows an intense confrontation between a flight attendant and at least two passengers at the front of the aircraft while it is still on the tarmac in San Francisco.

The flight attendant points his finger back at the passenger, moving toward him as he fires back, "You stay out of this!"

A flight attendant showed the passenger back to his seat saying that it was an "accident".

"You can't use violence with a baby", the woman says.

The American Airlines steward shouts "hit me" when a passenger came to the defense of the distressed mother.

The airline later apologized for the forcible removal of Dao, a 69-year-old physician, and offered compensation to those on the flight.

They then concluded that the flight attendant has been "removed from duty", while they investigate the incident.

The airline condemned the actions of the employee, which "do not appear to reflect patience or empathy".

The statement added that the woman, who ABC News reported was from Argentina and traveling with her two children, opted to take another flight and the airline is "making sure all of her family's needs are being met while she is in our care" and upgraded them to first class for the remainder of their worldwide trip. The captain appears to put his hand on the flight attendant's chest.

"We are often right in the middle of those conflicts because we are trying to manage them and de-escalate them from becoming a bigger problem", said Sara Nelson, head of the nation's largest flight attendant union, which does not represent American Airlines.

A female flight attendant had given her permission to look for storage space but told the woman it would have to be checked if there was no room.

"She was looking for space when the male attendant tried to take it away from her - and she told him the other attendant told her it was OK to look", Morgan said. We also must assure that our Flight Attendants are treated respectfully and safely on board.

Other passengers on Flight 3411 are heard saying, "Please, my God", "What are you doing?"

"We are deeply sorry for the pain we have caused this passenger and her family and to any other customers affected by the incident", the airline said in a statement.

The video comes just days after a number of incidents have occurred on United Airlines. We are making sure all of her family's needs are being met while she is in our care.
