Bridlington School Excited For Tour de Yorkshire

Elizabeth Burrows, 33, from Pontefract, will be riding in the race, in only her third year road racing.

Last year, the race offered what was at the time record prize money for a women's event anywhere in the world. I don't often get too emotional but I definitely felt a lot of emotion on the start line a year ago.

Due to injuries and a busy spring schedule, the American based team will only be taking six out of eight riders to the short stage race in northern England.

Great Britain Cycling Team para-cycling programmes manager, Jon Pett, said: "Over the last couple of years, and since our success at Rio, we've spent time looking at the structure of our pathways to ensure that we are in the best possible position to continue to be successful in the future given the increasing standard of competition across para-cycling".

"Somehow I've never had the chance to race in Great Britain so I'm really looking forward to lining up at Tour of Yorkshire", Bookwalter said. The 122.5km route will take riders from Tadcaster to Harrogate. "I think it's going to be an interesting race".

Pupils at a Bridlington school have been getting into the spirit of the Tour de Yorkshire with just one day to go.

After this weekend, Deignan will turn her attention to preparing for this year's World Championships, which will take place in Norway in September.

"They're leading the way at the moment, the United Kingdom with women's cycling". The questions were about cycling in general, not just the Tour de Yorkshire, there were questions on the Tour de France too and things like how many calories would the riders burn.

The finish lends itself to a sprint, but only if the pack can come together again after the imposing Cote de Lofthouse around 60km from the finish.

"It's going to be hard to judge", Garner added. I think a selection will be made over that climb.

The Women's Tour is considered by many riders to be among the very best on the calendar, while the Prudential RideLondon is also a WorldTour event.
