Serena and Comaneci blast Nastase

Williams confirmed her pregnancy last week, and on Saturday, ESPN reported that former world champ Nastase was overheard telling a journalist in Romanian, "Let's see what color it has".

Serena Williams is not happy about the alleged racist comment about her unborn child by Romanian tennis player Ilie Nastase.

The 23-time Grand Slam singles title holder, said any hate against her and her child will not stop her from pouring love and light into all her endeavours.

"If I said she would have an ugly, black (baby), that would have been racist", he said.

"My Dearest Baby, You gave me the strength I didn't know I had", Williams began. "You see, I am no coward", she added.

The baby - which is due in the autumn - will be Williams' first child with fiance Alexis Ohanian, 33, who is the co-founder of website Reddit.

Then, quoting the poem "Still I Rise" by Maya Angelou, the tennis icon proved that she's not backing down: "I am not afraid unlike you".

She concluded her message: "I humbly thank the ITF for any consideration given to all the facts in this case".

Serena Williams recently took to Instagram to shut down some seriously offensive and racist comments made about her unborn child - and her response was truly epic.

"I am a great supporter of women in sport and I would never condone any kind of sexist comments of this kind, whether they are from Ilie Nastase or anyone else". Well, what do I do with them? "I have nothing to do with them".

Responding to criticism over his actions during the Fed Cup tie, Nastase told the Daily Mirror: "I don't regret it and they can send me to prison if they want - I don't care".

The ITF released a statement saying is reviewing Nastase's remarks. "There are many more important things going on", Nastase said in a telephone interview from Budapest, Hungary.

"I am 71 years old" - though he does not turn that age until July - "I am no longer a sportsman", he said. I'm 70 years old. I don't know if he will be our captain even if he is not banned.
