Pochettino: West Ham match was "must win" for Spurs

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is yet to concede the title to Chelsea, but admits it will be "difficult" for his side after defeat at West Ham. Second-half goals from Vincent Kompany, Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Otamendi completed the scoring as City leapfrogged Liverpool into third in the Premier League, on goal difference, and also moved four points clear of fifth-placed Manchester United. "To win a trophy you have to show in a key moment you can win". We were missing a little bit.

Since the infamous departure of Dimitri Payet during the January transfer window, Lanzini has become arguably the Hammers' most influential player. If you want to be a champion, these are games you have to win.

After a stylish victory over north London rivals Arsenal on Sunday, Tottenham suddenly lost their swagger at the worst possible time.

"With all the obstacles we have had this season the guys deserve a lot of credit", said manager Slaven Bilic, who has had to cope with continual speculation about his future.

In the aftermath of their loss at the London Stadium, former midfielder Danny Murphy stressed the importance of Tottenham keeping their best players at the club when appearing on Saturday's Match of the Day. "The performance was just ok", he said.

Despite Pochettino's stance and refusal to give up, the Tottenham faithful would, therefore, will not like Lloris' comments.

"I am calm, disappointed of course because we missed an opportunity to reduce the gap on Chelsea". We have to try to take three points.

A second win in their last 11 games secured their top-flight status for another year.

"We deserved to win". We're a good team, but we haven't always shown it. "Beating them under the lights in front of 60,000, you can't beat that feeling".
