Isaiah Thomas Downplays Celtics' 'Funeral' Attire: 'I Wear Black All The Time'

The Cleveland Cavaliers are set to face either the Boston Celtics or the Washington Wizards in the Eastern Conference Finals beginning Wednesday at a location to be determined. Mettle replaced immaturity, as the pair traded clutch shots in the fourth quarter on Friday night against the Boston Celtics.

Wall's heroics came after Al Horford's jump shot with seven seconds left put the top-seeded Celtics ahead 91-89.

Wall then hit his go-ahead three that gave the Wizards the win.

The Celtics will be absolutely kicking themselves that they weren't able to come away with the win in Game 6 but they'll have to regroup in a hurry to avoid losing the series altogether. "Just go out there and compete, give it our all and see what the outcome (is)".

The Celtics settled for a heavily contested, fading three-pointer that never had a chance.

Wizards leader finished the game with 26 points but struggling with field goal percentage as he had 9 of 25 in the game, 1 from 9 in the first half.

On Friday night, the Celtics appeared to pull the same stunt prior to Game 6 of their best-of-7 playoff series against the Wizards. It will be the first Game 7 in Wall and Beal's career - and the team's first since the 1979 conference finals. Boston F Jae Crowder had 10 points. I'm excited. We couldn't take care of business tonight, an unbelievable shot by John Wall.

Washington shot 43 percent overall. Washington countered thanks to its dynamic backcourt.

They say anything can happen in a Game 7, and that certainly rings true for the upcoming contest at TD Garden in Boston.

"We have to have the will to win", Washington forward Markieff Morris said. Had that call be made, a technical foul and a free throw would have been the result.

Before the start of the 2016-17 season, Wall and Beal made headlines about their work relationship or lack thereof. He scored 13 in the period.

In a Last 2 Minute report, the National Basketball Association acknowledged the Celtics should have had an extra second for a final shot opportunity in Game 6 vs. the Wizards. Their season was on the line, so they should have been motivated by everything else, just like we're motivated for Game 7. Wall scored 40 points of his own in Game 2, but he ran out of gas in the extra session on the road. "We've said all series they were a tough team here and they showed it". We can't let plays go by. The threads, when pulled back late at night, represented only missed an opportunity.

"Both teams just play really hard", Horford said. So we're excited. I mean, it hurts right now because we just lost. "It's a learning experience for our group".

He arrived to Boston at 4 a.m., the morning of Game 1, and hit the court on limited rest.

The Celtics' black clothing was a nod to what the Wizards did before a regular-season matchup in January that became known as the "Funeral Game".
