Area police descend on Dunkin' Donuts

Officers have been out on Dunkin' Donuts rooftops raising awareness and donations for the law enforcement torch run to benefit Special Olympics Illinois.

For almost 40 years, officers across the state of Kansas have raised money for Special Olympics and taken part in the annual Torch Run.

Dunkin' donuts themselves will be donating 15-thousand dollars to the IL law enforcement torch run.

Dunkin' locations are making the fundraiser a little sweeter by handing out free donuts to those who donate.

Guests donating at least $25 will receive a Law Enforcement Torch Run runner's shirt.

The fundraiser Friday was the third Special Olympics event that United Kingdom police have participated in so far in 2017.

13 News was live at the Topeka Dunkin' Donuts location, near 21st and Gage. "They have been supportive in other communities around the country and we are excited to bring this program to Kansas".

Oh, and a couple of undercover cops out near the careful, you could get clocked for speeding by a dancing donut and cavorting cup of coffee.
