Jose Mourinho: Don't judge Man United season on Europa League final

However, with the Europa League final coming up against Ajax, Mourinho says that United have prioritised winning titles instead of fighting for the top four, with the prize for the victor, a Champions League spot.

The United manager confirmed that he will also rotate his side against Saints and Palace in order to freshen up his side for the Europa League final in Stockholm on 24 May.

JOSE MOURINHO sensationally claimed Manchester United could not be bothered with the Premier League before storming out of an interview.

The "Special One" has played Sergio Romero in nearly all their Europa League games this season and the Argentine has been selected by Jose Mourinho to man the post in the finals.

Mourinho says he has no regrets about Man United's failure to finish in the Premier League top four, insisting trophies are more important.

Mourinho added: "I can not go to Man City or Arsenal and put out five kids at the same time altogether".

They're a young team, a strong team, they finished the league this weekend and will have 12 days to recover.

"I want to congratulate all and say thank you to the fans, players, my staff because all together we work so hard to achieve all that we achieve this season", said Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino.

De Gea made three appearances in the group stages, with Romero, 30, having played every game in the knockout stages.

On Sunday, United still fielded a team that included the likes of Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Michael Carrick.

Sky reporter Geoff Shreeves asked three questions of the United manager and then tried to follow up with a fourth, saying: 'Jose, before you go...' - only for Mourinho to have already darted away from the television cameras at White Hart Lane. We played, we tried to win.

"I analyse the individual performances of the players, try to understand who can give me a little bit more for the final".

"The accumulation of the games, I never had that", said Mourinho.

Mata added: "I think it's fair to congratulate Chelsea for winning the Premier League".

"A final is a final, we have to go to the final with everything like Ajax does because they finished the season and have no more football until the final".
