Kane scores 4 as EPL runner-up Tottenham routs Leicester 6-1

Kane will start Tottenham's final game, at Hull City on Sunday, with 26 goals, two clear of Everton forward Romelu Lukaku.

During that spell, the Lilywhites were held to three successive draws by West Brom, Bournemouth and Leicester in the league - all matches that Kane missed because of injury. For us, it's good because after two seasons we are one of the best teams but now is a moment next season to try to win again and try to fight.

They should have taken the lead when Dele Alli played the ball through to Son but with just the keeper to beat, the winger smashed the ball over the bar when he should have scored.

"So I changed it at half-time and for 10 to 15 minutes we actually caused them problems, but the disappointing thing for me when we scored the third goal I didn't see enough desire to defend as a team and it really drained us of any belief. If they can keep this exciting side together. then they will be even more of a threat next season, assuming they can settle in at Wembley".

"It would be great if I could join that 100 club in the Premier League by the end of next season".

Spurs continued to push for more goals in the remaining stages of the first half, but Schmeicel produced two saves in the closing stages.

England worldwide Kane, who hopes to add to his tally at relegated Hull on Sunday, said: "I've been thinking a lot about getting on the scoresheet this week".

After their fairytale title last season, this has been a turbulent campaign for Leicester, with poor league form leading to Claudio Ranieri's sacking before a memorable run to the Champions League quarter-finals under Craig Shakespeare.

Leicester City and Tottenham are set to lock horns at the King Power Stadium on Thursday in a rather inconsequential tie for either Premier League outfit.

Tottenham moved to 83 points on the season, two more than Leicester's title-winning total a year ago. With Fuchs trailing behind, Son teed up Kane to sweep in from six yards.

The South Korean star, 24, joined Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, hit just seven goals and five assists last term, but has been superb this term with 21 goals and five assists in all competitions.

Tottenham threatened to overwhelm the Foxes and Schmeichel saved Eric Dier's header before the hosts could grab a breather at halftime.

Player ratingsLeicester: Kasper Schmeichel 5, Danny Simpson 5, Yohan Benalouane 4, Christian Fuchs 4, Ben Chilwell 5, Riyad Mahrez 4, Wilfred Ndidi 5, Daniel Amartey 5, Marc Albrighton 6, Shinji Okazaki 5, Jamie Vardy 5. Kane doubled his tally four minutes later, heading home after Victor Wanyama had headed Toby Aldwerweireld's cross-back across goal.
