LeBron James Posterizes Isaiah Thomas (Almost) in Game 1 During Rout

LeBron James Posterizes Isaiah Thomas (Almost) in Game 1 During Rout

Game 2 is Friday night at TD Garden before the series shifts to Cleveland for Games 3 and 4.

The Boston Celtics have several things to improve on to clinch a win against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals.

James went 7-of-7 from the paint in the first quarter alone, and the Celtics' dreams of catching the Cavs with rust were dashed when they went 0-of-8 on open 3-point shots in the first half.

Thomas had 17 points and 10 assists tonight, but he looked out of his depth in a way he hasn't throughout the playoffs.

Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder led the Celtics with 21 points apiece. Additionally, LeBron told Kristen Ledlow in a post-game interview that he wasn't even feeling that great.

I expect to see them get more run in Game 2 because they produced and brought infectious energy on both ends of the ball.

It was reminiscent of the last regular-season matchup between the Celtics and Cavs, in which Boston had no answer for James. "LeBron and Kevin really got us going". James was hijacking Cleveland's offense, pounding the ball into the floor and settling for bad shots.

LeBron not only thinks the Cavs can play better as a team, he also said that he "didn't feel that great". He practically made a meme out of Isaiah Thomas and disrespected Kelly Olynyk by turning his back to him while isolated on the wing. He has never lost more than two Eastern Conference home games in a single playoff stretch.

"It's what you saw on film coming in", Celtics coach Brad Stevens said.

But as the Celtics' leading rebounder (with nine), as well as being their most efficient scorer (10 points, 5-for-7), Brown has once again excited the base with signs of what is to come.

It's hard to even believe the Celtics are the No. 1 seed in the East, because while it was only one game, the Cavs are playing on a much higher level. "It's all easier said than done, but we've got to figure out our best avenue quickly". Isaiah Thomas, who averaged 27 points in the series against Washington, finished with 17 on 7-for-19 shooting. In a matter of minutes on Wednesday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers proved that seeding matters little when you have LeBron James and things are firing on almost all cylinders. At a certain point, though, the Celtics will have to commit to either helping or not.

LeBron James scored or assisted on 32 of the Cleveland Cavaliers 61 first half points on Monday night against the Celtics.

On Tuesday, the NBA Draft Lottery was held, and the Boston Celtics had the best odds to land the No. 1 overall pick, thanks to the Brooklyn Nets and the blockbuster trade back in 2013.

LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are on the verge of making their second consecutive 10-0 start to the National Basketball Association playoffs when they face the Boston Celtics on Friday. "The Cavs have a huge advantage on the boards there", Pluto said.

"LeBron's been playing so well that we really haven't had the chance to feature Kevin, but we've been talking and he's been ready", Cavs coach Tyronn Lue said. The two got tied up a few times in the third quarter and were hit with technical fouls.

As great as James was Wednesday night, it was nearly expected, and the same will be the case in Game 2 Friday night. He started well with 11 points and seven rebounds in the first half. Love, quiet in the Toronto series, scored 32 points against the Celtics.

Love scored 11 points (3-for-3 shooting) in the second quarter. "So we just take what the defense gives us, and that's how we try to play".
