A corporate pilot said the company contracts for UPS.

Commentary: Is a buyout worth taking?

UPS released a statement Friday morning, according to the Courier-Journal. Most of the flights use smaller regional planes.

The Air Cargo Carriers mailing address is on Howell Avenue at General Mitchell International Airport. The agency planned to hold a news conference Friday night in Charleston.

Yeager Airport will remain closed until sometime Saturday.

The Air Cargo Carriers plane had departed from Louisville, Kentucky, at 5:43 a.m. and arrived at the Charleston, West Virginia, airport at 6:51 a.m., Plante said.

Two people died when an incoming cargo plane swerved off the runway at a West Virginia airport and went over a hillside, officials said on Friday.

"It's hard terrain to negotiate", Yeager Airport spokesman Mike Plante said.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating. Officials says UPS plane went off runway, several on board, and heavy entrapment.

A Lincoln County family believes they heard something moments before the cargo plane crashed at Yeager Airport.

The plane itself crashed over the hill, the news station reported.

Aviation expert James-Paul Dice, an aircraft pilot and chief meteorologist at WBRC-TV in Birmingham, AL, says weather could have played a part in the crash.

Airport officials have quoted a spend of $290 million in order to restore and extend damages caused to the runway in 2015 when a landslide incident destroyed a nearby house and church.
