Bears sign 2nd-round pick TE Adam Shaheen

The Bears on Friday signed second-round draft pick Adam Shaheen, a tight end from Division II Ashland University, to a four-year contract.

Zach Miller and Dion Sims are on hand at tight end for the Bears in the event Shaheen does need some extra polish before he's ready to take on life with an National Football League offense.

The only Bears' pick yet to sign is their top pick, quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, who went second overall. Morgan's deal was a 4 year, $2,696,038 contract, with $296,038 guaranteed.

Like the Bears' other draft picks, Shaheen participated in the team's rookie minicamp last week.

There should not be any hang-up signing Trubisky, the No. 2 pick, to a four-year contract with a club option for 2021. The first overall draft pick, Myles Garrett, of the Cleveland Browns, signed earlier today. Jackson received a 4 year, $3,065,797 deal, with $665,797 guaranteed. Exact amounts for Shaheen and Morgan are not yet known. Cohen's deal is worth $3,033,156 and his signing bonus was $623,289.
