Ducks Even Western Finals, Beat Preds

I'm just trying to go out there and play hockey. Yes, you heard me right. That ties him with Teemu Selanne for most in Ducks history.

The defending Stanley Cup champions have relied heavily on Marc-Andre Fleury during their run to the NHL's final four, but he faltered in Game 3, allowing four goals in just over 13 minutes before being pulled for Matt Murray in a 5-1 loss that gave the Senators a 2-1 series lead. The Predators are the first National Hockey League team to win 10 straight playoff games at home since Detroit in 1997-98.

With 9:38 left in the second, forward Nick Ritchie wired a wrist shot past Rinne for his fourth of the postseason to double the Ducks' lead. Perry threw a puck into the crease from the right boards and the puck found its way behind Rinne.

John Gibson made 32 saves in goal for Anaheim, while Pekka Rinne stopped 34 of 37 shots for Nashville. They also could activate 37-year-old center Vernon Fiddler, who played in the first two games of the conference finals before sitting out the last two.

Such is the relationship between the fans and the Predators organization a partnership thats almost 20 years in the making and has finally blossomed into one that the entire hockey world has taken notice ofas Nashville ventures deeper towards itsultimate goal of a Stanley Cup. It was unclear as to who would win game seven as the Ducks had come back from a two game deficit but had been beaten so badly in the previous game. Moving on, they faced the St. Louis Blues, fresh off a 4-1 series victory over the Minnesota Wild.

"We thought we were outcompeted last game, so it feels good to take care of business and get a split on the road and now it's best out of three", Ducks center Andrew Cogliano said. Credit the pressure Nashville is putting on the Ducks, and defenseman Cam Fowler said it's unique how the Predators sustain that for a whole game. But the Predators outshot them 11-5 in the third with the late flurry forcing overtime.

"We want to dictate the pace of the game, and we want to attack you in all three zones as a five-man unit and be tough to play against", Nashville defenseman P.K. Subban said.

"That's why it's the hardest trophy to win in sports", said forward James Neal, who scored Nashville's overtime victor in Game 1.

"Whoever's picking us as the underdog, that's fine", Neal said.

SISK: They have good reason. And as a team it gives us that extra boost.

The Ducks held a significant advantage over the Predators at center, with the strength of the team down the middle of the ice, what with Kesler, Ryan Getzlaf, Antoine Vermette and Nate Thompson.

The Nashville Predators will have to move on without their first-line center for the remainder of the NHL Playoffs.

The third period started, the Preds got back to work and began to come at the Ducks with speed, continued to attack in waves and the Ducks quickly exhausted.

The Predators opened the second with a bit more energy, matching what they put on net in the first period within a minute.

Predators Captain Mike Fisher left the game early after taking a knee to the face during play.

They want to take control of their Western Conference Final series with a win in game two Sunday.

After a failed wraparound attempt by Viktor Arvidsson, Filip Forsberg stuffed in the loose puck for his seventh goal of the postseason. Fubo TV also includes a cloud-based DVR that will allow you to record sports and TV shows.
