Jose Mourinho hints towards his Manchester United team selection against Crystal Palace

Sergio Romero, who deputised for De Gea at Southampton and saved a penalty in that match, will start ahead of the Spain worldwide in next Wednesday's Europa League final against Ajax.

Mourinho plans to start 20-year-old keeper Joel Castro Pereira in United's final Premier League match of the season at home to Crystal Palace on Sunday, while Sergio Romero will start the Europa League final against Ajax next Wednesday.

Talking to reporters after Wednesday's boring 0-0 draw with Southampton at St. Mary's, Mourinho said, "In any country in the world the match would be Saturday because we are sixth no matter what and Crystal Palace are safe".

"It is frustrating for me and I hope you don't kill me when you see my team". Spain's national team goalkeeper; Argentina's national team goalkeeper; it's fantastic to have it.

"The last match against Crystal Palace, two days before the final, for me is unacceptable especially because we are sixth and never [finishing] fifth, never [finishing] seventh and Crystal Palace is not going to be relegated too", he said. "For this club we need the trophy".

Southampton manager Claude Puel refused to discuss his future at the club, which is the subject of speculation.

From Mourinho's perspective, some United players gave him food for thought ahead of the Ajax game.

"I'm really happy with both of them". Sergio (Romero) had a very good performance, more than very good. I hope Big Sam shows he's a good friend and tells Zaha to go slow, leaves Benteke at home. "I hope to play Sergio in the final".

"Any team has a debrief at the end of the season and this is normal but the end of the season is after the last game", said Puel, 55.

United make four changes in total from their defeat to Tottenham last time out, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Marouane Fellaini and Matteo Darmian returning to the starting XI. "It's important to focus on our last game".

"It's a shame I think because in the first half we had good play without quality or intensity and the second half it was better with possibilities and opportunities". So I think it's just a lost battle [asking to move the game].
