Julian Assange: 'I can not forgive bad injustice'

Julian Assange: 'I can not forgive bad injustice'

The accuser maintains that Assange had unprotected sex with her when she was asleep after she had made having sex with him conditional on wearing a condom. "The Metropolitan Police Service is obliged to execute that warrant should he leave the Embassy".

He said Assange had convinced Swedish prosecutors during a November meeting a year ago that he was not guilty of any sex offences.

Assange always denied the allegations, which he feared would lead to him being extradited to face trial over the leak of hundreds of thousands of secret United States military and diplomatic documents in 2010, that brought WikiLeaks to prominence.

"Today we published material from the Central Intelligence Agency", he said.

"Assange declared that 'the proper war is just commencing". In prison, under house arrest and nearly five years here in this embassy without sunlight.

She was given a 35-year prison sentence, which former United States president Barack Obama commuted in January.

Assange is a cyber hero to some for exposing government abuses of power and championing free speech, but to others he is a criminal who has undermined the security of the West.

At a press conference Friday in Stockholm, Ny, chief of the Swedish Prosecution Authority, said she "has chose to discontinue the investigation" and call back the European arrest warrant for Assange.

"If he were to return to Sweden before the statute of limitation on this case expires in August 2020, the preliminary investigation could be resumed... it is regrettable we have not been able to carry out the investigation".

Army Pvt. Chelsea Manning served seven years in prison for giving classified material to WikiLeaks.

Assange and WikiLeaks have repeatedly infuriated USA officials with the widespread release of sensitive secret documents related to military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq and diplomatic relations around the world. "It is not something I can forget", he said.

Prior to his speech, Ecuador's foreign minister Guillaume Long had said: "Given that the European Arrest Warrant no longer holds, Ecuador will now be intensifying its diplomatic efforts with the United Kingdom so that Julian Assange can gain safe passage in order to enjoy his asylum in Ecuador".

"Abuse of procedure" -Another lawyer, Christophe Marchand, told AFP that "We have been waiting a long time for this decision".

As long as that risk remains, Ecuador will continue to offer Assange asylum, he said.

The end of the Swedish investigation and the lifting of a European arrest warrant presents American prosecutors with a series of tough decisions about how - and whether - to pursue the case against Assange.

Ny's play-acting in Stockholm shows that she is less concerned with the woman's right to her day in court than with continuing a low-intensity propaganda war against Assange. Wikileaks also published leaked emails from the Democratic National Convention during the recent USA presidential election. But the hack and subsequent publication of those emails has become part a sprawling FBI investigation of the presidential election and whether any Trump aides colluded with the Russian government.

In the short term, the announcement by Swedish authorities represents a clear victory for Assange, who was never charged by prosecutors there but was wanted for questioning.

Assange meanwhile guest-starred as himself in an episode of "The Simpsons", recording his lines over the phone from the Ecuadoran embassy. They were not allowed to question him directly but only through an Ecuadorean prosecutor.
