National Basketball Association playoffs 2017: Kawhi Leonard ruled out of Game 2 vs. Warriors

National Basketball Association playoffs 2017: Kawhi Leonard ruled out of Game 2 vs. Warriors

"So, we know we're not taking their heart", he said after Tuesday's 136-100 rout.

"I don't know if the only, but one of the very few who came to play... he played to win".

And while San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich explained the size of the loss as the result of an nearly team-wide timidity, the Warriors played at a level that nearly no team would have been able to match, let alone one with a shredded roster. We felt sorry for ourselves.

The Game 1 of the Spurs vs. Warriors Game 2 will air on ESPN, which means it will be available to live stream online on flagship streaming app - WatchESPN.

An X-ray on Pachulia's bruised right heel was clear but he was scheduled for an MRI on Wednesday.

The Warriors led from start to finish and earned a 136-100 victory over the Spurs in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday night.

Two days after falling behind by 25 points in the first half to a Leonard-led team, the Warriors had a 25-point lead of their own in the 16th minute of the rematch en route to a 72-44 halftime advantage. The Warriors' bench combined for 63 points in the win, their highest total in any game this season (regular season or playoffs).

"I have no idea", Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said Tuesday, via The Mercury News, regarding Leonard's status.

"They came out with a sense of urgency from the beginning and they played that way for 48 minutes", acting Warriors coach Mike Brown said.

Klay Thompson finished with 11 points, but was 4-of-10 from shooting with six rebounds, while Shaun Livingston and Ian Clark each had 10 points for Golden State to secure its 10th consecutive playoffs win this season. The Warriors had 39 assists - the most by any team this postseason - including 30 on their initial 38 baskets. Golden State is beating its playoff opponents by an average margin of 17 points per game - the largest point differential through 10 postseason games.

Popovich wasn't about to guess whether Leonard would return in time for Saturday's game, saying it could be Friday or even game day before that would be determined. He sprained it on May 9 when the Spurs beat the Houston Rockets in Game 5 of their second-round series, and he re-injured it twice Sunday afternoon in Game 1, having not played for five days. "I'm disappointed", Popovich said. "As I watched, I don't think they believed". So one would logically think maybe it will take longer, but I'm hoping that's not true and we'll have him for Game 3. "I've been at practice just watching things". If I scoot a little closer, they'll get a little scared, because I know I'd get scared.

But Golden State's style is defined largely by its use of defense and pace, which it lacked through much of Game 1. Patty Mills, playing in place of the injured Tony Parker, had another quiet night. That's just part of the game.

Kerr is recovering from a May 5 procedure at Duke University to fix a spinal fluid leak and Mike Brown has been coaching during his absence, but the reigning NBA Coach of the Year has been attending practices again and addressing the team in the locker room while watching games behind the scenes.

"It's amusing you mention that", said Stephen Curry (29/7/7 in 30 minutes), whose pull-up three seven minutes into the game gave the Warriors a double-digit lead that only bloated as time went on.
