OMF - Celtics lose Game 6, but their attire wasn't to blame

Kelly Olynyk put up a playoff career high of 26 points off the bench - including 14 in an wonderful fourth-quarter display - while Isaiah Thomas was his usual electric self with 29 points as the Celtics can now get ready for Game 1 of the Eastern finals against the defending champion Cavaliers Wednesday night in Boston.

TNT will broadcast the game live at 7 p.m.

The best-of-7 series is tied 3-3. He was one of the top players in that year's draft, but it was the Dallas Mavericks who drafted him.

Washington cut into Boston's lead before Olynyk scored 11 of his team's 13 points for a 110-100 lead. "I've worked too hard to be scared of any type of pressure".

Thomas has been averaging 25.1 points per game and a 44.2 percent shooting rate. The Wizards starters have a net rating of -0.2 this playoffs, while their bench's net rating is -15.7. Cleveland needed just four games to beat the 60-win Atlanta Hawks in that series. The home squads won every contest, and the Celtics' crowd certainly did their part in ensuring that trend would remain intact. All 10 meetings this season have been won by the home team. The series, though, got chippy after Kelly Olynyk popped out Kevin Love's shoulder while battling for a rebound in Game 1.

The Atlanta Hawks' next general manager will have total authority of personnel decisions following moves on Friday which dismantled the two-tier management team of Mike Budenholzer and Wes Wilcox.

He became a Game 7 legend, one who will be forever associated with this lovable version of Boston Celtics that - at the very least - reached the Eastern Conference Finals in 2017. Game 1 will be played at TD Garden in Boston because the Celtics finished two games ahead of the Cavs in the Eastern Conference standings.

In a see-sawing series typified by fourth-quarter comebacks, the Wizards snuck home in Game 6 on the back of some John Wall and Bradley Beal magic.

In Washington, the drought has been much longer. The Celtics rookie stepped up big in his limited time on the floor in the Celtics' 115-105 win to land a berth in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cavs.

The numbers look a lot better than Wall's impact in Game 7, particularly down the stretch. Thomas has been known for his late-game skills, often going on scoring tears in the final quarter. The Wizards wore all-black to a regular-season matchup with Boston in January before soundly beating them. He capped that burst with a pull-up 3-pointer that had the Celtics out front 94-81 with 10:00 to play. Looking at the two teams from their previous game, it would seem that Washington needs more contributions from players not named Wall or Beal, though.

"Well, first thing, I thanked him", Brooks said of his speech to Wall after the game. "They closers. They proven closers". A little bit, got a little bit more separation. Game 4 is Sunday night in Washington.

What a marvelous performance by Bradley Beal. Bojan Bogdanovic was the only Wizards reserve to score, and he was a minus-19 in 16 minutes.

Tonight's Game 7 will be the first for either team in this year's playoffs.

Wall and Thomas also have had their supporting casts come through.
