UP government transfers 74 IAS officers, CM Yogi Adityanath gets principal secretary

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to address a rally later this month in Bihar, considered a stronghold of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his major ally RJD chief Lalu Prasad, to mark three years of the BJP-led NDA government of Narendra Modi.

The new appointments assume significance following continued attack on the government at the hands of the opposition in both the houses of the state legislature.

"The state government wants to shirk responsibility by taking action against a few policemen; 103 incidents of loot and 76 killing have taken place ever since the Adityanath government took over the reins of the state", Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee chief Raj Babbar was quoted as saying by PTI. Goyal was joint secretary in Ministry of Human Resource Development. He said the Government is also working for introducing metro rail serviced in Kanpur, Allahabad, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Jhansi, Varanasi and Gorakhpur.On the corruption in Samajwadi Pension Yojana, CM said, "large number of people who were not eligible were given pension and as many as five persons from one family were getting the pension".

Besides Panda, Shashi Prakash Goel, who was awaiting posting has been made principal secretary to the Chief Minister, along with the charge of civil aviation, estate department and protocol, the spokesman said.

Devashish Panda has been removed from the post of Principal Secretary, Home. He has now been made Investment Commissioner and Resident Commissioner of UP in New Delhi, a fairly downgraded post. He has been replaced by Alok Kumar, who has recently been repatriated to UP from centre. Another senior bureaucrat Sadakant, has been divested of charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Housing and Urban Planning and is only left with the Public Works Department. The charge of the Investment Commissioner has been given to Panda.

Sudhesh Ojha, Director, Information and Public Relations Department has also been removed.
