United States climate pact pullout could add 0.3 degrees of warming

Trump faced significant criticism from global and business leaders after he made a decision to pull the United States out of the Paris agreement on climate change.

"Despite Trump's announcement, the U.S. can not immediately withdraw from the Paris Agreement", stressed Richard Klein, of the Stockholm Environment Institute.

"Earlier on yesterday Baker, who didn't support Trump during last year's campaign and didn't vote for him" said he didn't think Trump's decision to withdraw from the agreement was the right thing for the country or the world.

"Not only does this deal subject our citizens to harsh economic restrictions, it fails to live up to our environmental ideals". Executives with Google, Amazon, General Electric, Microsoft, and IBM are also among those in corporate America blasting Trump's decision. Here are four perspectives.

"President Trump can turn his back on the world, but the world cannot ignore the very real threat of climate change", New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio, said in a statement Thursday. It will undermine the most significant and comprehensive coordinating mechanism for global action to combat climate change that we have. Its goal is to reduce global emissions and prevent global temperatures from rising.

Paris - The earliest possible date for America's official withdrawal from the climate-rescue Paris Agreement is just a day after the country's next presidential election.

Referring to Trump's idea of redrawing the 2015 accord, he said, in the French version, "we will not in any way renegotiate an agreement that is less ambitious" than the present one.

At his White House withdrawal announcement, Trump complained that the global agreement, signed by 197 countries during the previous Obama administration, was "unfair" to American workers that imposed "draconian" restrictions on the U.S. sovereignty and domestic economic activities.

According to a draft, they will express their determination "to forge ahead with further policies and measures for effective implementation of their respective nationally determined contributions".

Put simply, the US decision to withdraw from the Paris Agreement will have impacts on the global climate that a future USA administration will not be able to undo.

"Trump will find himself isolated more and more", she said.

Americans believe climate change has already begun.

Plank drew widespread criticism in February for praising Trump's pro-business approach to the presidency and the company subsequently issued several clarifying statements, but Plank made his opposition to Trump's climate change ideas clear.
