Washington softens stance on U.S. investors mingling with Putin and allies

Sharing stage with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India-Russia relations have continuously strengthened over 70 years irrespective of changes in the world.

Kelly said the us intelligence community and "even some of your defenders" believe that Russian Federation was behind the hacking of Democratic National Committee emails.

That admission was a reversal of Putin's prior position, that of complete denial of a Russian connection to the hacking that some Democrats blame for the loss of the election.

Pressed by Kelly to explain the Russian "fingerprints" described by the combined intelligence agencies' declassified report, Putin sneered that the IP addresses the report attributed to Russian hackers could've been rigged by anyone to blame Russia. Visibly irritated by having to discuss the matter, Putin was equally forthright about denying separate accusations that there had been some kind of secret deal between Moscow and the Trump team before his inauguration.

The contacts have become the focus of an FBI investigation into possible collusion between Moscow and Trump's aides that has most recently centred on Jared Kushner, the president's son-in-law.

He said that he had been asked this question three days ago in Germany, and he had said at that time that whether or not there is a Paris accord, India's traditions have been to hand over a clean planet, with clean air, to our children, so that they too can live well.

The Kremlin chief praised the Paris accord as a "good" document on Friday, but he added that he did not want to judge US President Trump for pulling out of it.

"As of today, the USA will cease all implementation of the non-binding Paris accord, and the draconian financial and economic burdens the agreement imposes on our country", he said in an address in the White House Rose Garden. "We have set 175 GW target", he said. What's an ambassador supposed to do? Give them a pill, really, honestly.

There's plenty for Putin to cheer in Trump's rejection of the agreement signed by 195 countries.

The climate deal can not work without the United States, he said, but the accord is not slated to go into effect until 2021, which left hope for a compromise that would bring the United States back to the deal.

"But it turned out that he was right", Putin said.
