Kathy Griffin breaks down and claims the Trump family ruined her life

Though Griffin, 56, apologized within hours of the images appearing online Tuesday, they were met with swift and widespread condemnation.

I'll be honest: "He broke me", Griffin said yesterday referring to Trump, days after she was forced to apologize for the tasteless joke.

In a tweet, Trump called the photo "sick" and in a separate post, the first lady stressed that the video had negatively affected their 11-year-old son, Barron.

Earlier this week, CNN said Griffin would no longer co-host its live New Year's Eve special from Times Square, a gig she had had for more than a decade, and another show was cancelled at a New Mexico casino.

Kathy Griffin held a press conference Friday to address her controversial anti-Donald Trump photo and the ensuing harassment she has faced following its release.

Griffin "never imagined" that the mask could be interpreted as a threat of violence, Bloom said. Griffin says the image was meant to be a parody to what she says were previous sexist remarks by President Trump.

Griffin then addressed reporters herself. There's a bunch of old white guys trying to silence me. "I am a woman in a very male-dominated field".

"Regarding the image, that apology absolutely still stands".

Griffin, too, said the response she received was unprecedented.

Lovato's fans quickly reacted to the tweets and assumed it was in reference to her old nemesis, Griffin.

Prior to the firing, Cooper had taken to Twitter and wrote: 'For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in. You guys know him, he's never going to stop. I understand how it offends people, it wasn't amusing, I get it... "The death threats that I'm getting are detailed and constant, serious and specific". "Today it's me. Tomorrow it could be you".

The U.S. Secret Service, which is responsible for presidential security, has opened an inquiry into the photo of Griffin posing with the severed-head replica.

Fellow comedians have come to Griffin's defense, including Larry King, Jerry Seinfeld, and Jim Carrey.
