With yet another title, Madrid again the kings of Europe

No team had retained their trophy in the Champions League era until Ronaldo and his team-mates in the Welsh city, and it sparked wild scenes in Madrid.

Zinedine Zidane has a lifelong job at Real Madrid, says club presidentFlorentino Perez after the Frenchman became the first manager to win the Champions League two years in a row.

- competed in their sixth Champions League final, equalling AC Milan's record.

Ronaldo will equal Lionel Messi's record of winning the award on five ocassions. "It justifies why I came here, it's great to be part of that and I want it to continue".

Real Madrid were labelled "insatiable" and "masters of the universe" by an adoring Spanish press on Sunday after writing more Champions League history by thrashing Juventus 4-1 to win the trophy for the 12th time.

"I had a spectacular end to the season". If somebody wins the Ballon d'Or and scores so many goals, obviously it's a big advantage.

The Portuguese superstar made it four Champions League winners medals in his collection after the 4-1 win over Juventus in Cardiff on Saturday night.

The first half ended as a 1-1 stalemate following Cristiano Ronaldo's opener and Mario Mandzukic's stunning equalizer.

Ronaldo, 32, has now scored 600 career goals for club and country, including 105 in the Champions League, and has finished as the top scorer in the competition for the last 5 seasons.

But Madrid, inspired by Cristiano Ronaldo's brace, proved too hot for Juventus to handle.

It was Zidane's stunning volley against Bayer Leverkusen that won Real the 2002 title in Glasgow, while previous year, five months after replacing Rafael Benitez as coach, he breathed new life into a demotivated team and took them to the Champions League trophy.

Speaking about the jeers Real fans levelled on him during down times in the season, Ronaldo said: "It is not the moment to speak about [whistles]".

For such an experienced side to go missing nearly completely in the second half is likely to be down to Real Madrid's brilliance as much as their own failings.

"But at the same time we know that next year is going to be much more difficult and we will have to work harder".

"I've worked double sessions for three, four weeks to get myself ready for this and recover from the surgery".

"He said at half-time that we needed to be more aggressive, to not allow Juve to keep the ball easily like they did in first half after our goal.

They showed their class and the attitude needed to play in this kind of game".
