Rumman Raees to replace injured Wahab Riaz in Champions Trophy

Pacer Wahab Riaz, who had to leave the field during Pakistan's opening Champions Trophy clash against India after an ankle injury, has been ruled unfit for the rest of the tournament, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement on Monday.

Kohli and Yuvraj stood out in an all-round batting effort, propelling India to 319 for three after rain halted proceedings twice. "I think that really deflated the opposition and that gave me a bit of time to settle in from the other end", Kohli said.

Pakistan were set a revised target of 289 in 41 overs to beat title-holders India after frequent rain interruptions. Arthur admitted that Pakistani players lacked self belief and erred in executing simple plans.

"The way he batted was the way only he can strike the ball", Kohli said.

In came Yuvraj Singh, the man who had belted Englishman Stuart Broad for 36 runs in an over in the 2007 ICC World T20.

"I felt like a club batter next to him".

Kohli was also all praise for the openers, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma.

Self-belief has played a large role in Pandya's rise, to the point where he is establishing himself as an indispensable cog in India's white-ball set-up. "Since I made my worldwide debut, I have played all the games that I was part of the squad for, except for one which I sat out in Visakhapatnam", concluded Pandya.

"I thought we all batted really well".

"I was lucky I was dropped, but I capitalised and I was hitting it well".

India's sensational display against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy on Sunday included several brilliant individual performances.

Meanwhile, Indian bowlers also rose to the occasion and contributed in the splendid triumph over Pakistan.

In the 46th over, things went even worst for the Sarfraz Ahmed-led side when the Indian skipper smashed two boundaries and a six and Yuvraj scored his 52nd fifty off 29 balls and 12th against Pakistan. "I think we need to stick together and control our bowling rate, especially last few overs", a disappointed Sarfraz said. Pandya's cameo (20 of 6 balls) in the end is to be credited for keeping India's momentum high when they came out to bowl.

Having that license to go slam-bang whenever you want is a great one to have - just look at England, and why they have been so successful in this format of late - and Pandya gives India that luxury.
