Real rejects United's Morata bid, say reports

UNITED have reportedly lodged a bid for Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata.

According to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia, the strike indeed agree to a move to the San Siro and even spoke with AC Milan coach Vincenzo Montella about the transfer.

His two years in Italy were hugely successful, winning domestic doubles both years and scoring in a losing effort in the Champions league final in 2015.

United initially had a £52m bid rejected but are hoping a new offer of £60m will suffice for the Madrid board.

According to reports across the British press, Benfica defender Victor Lindelof, too, is set to be announced as a Manchester United player, on Wednesday.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic's fucked knee forcing Jose Mourinho to look elsewhere for a new number nine, it's expected that a deal for the Real Madrid man is all but done.

Lopez said of United's interest: "They are a club of great charm, a very interesting option".

José Mourinho called the Spaniard to convince him to leave Spain and join Manchester United and the call was successful.

The report suggests that United are confident of securing a deal for less than that, especially considering that Real Madrid only paid £30million to re-sign the striker just 12 months ago from Juventus. "I can not say [if a deal will be closed soon] - we will see".

At 6 " 1 Morata is more than capable of providing a physical presence up front and is exactly the kind of player Mourinho has built his sides around in the past. Real Madrid exercised their buy-back clause and re-signed Morata for 26.2m in 2016.

Despite not being considered a regular for Madrid this season Morata still contributed heavily to their La Liga and Champions League triumphs as he struck 18 goals in total across those competitions and 20 overall.
