Shuhei Yoshida: We Deliberately Skipped Big Game Announcements At E3 2017

When Spidey chases the goons out of Fisk Tower we get a closer look at Spider-Man's gameplay. We first caught a trailer for Spider-Man in the Sony E3 press conference a year ago.

When Spidey finally catches up to the helicopter he's been chasing in the E3 demo, he's surprised by an aggressive-looking Mr. Li, who is nearly certainly Mister Negative. Free web-slinging gameplay through the city soon followed, with Spider-Man using quick-time events to avoid falling debris and protect civilians.

What the audience didn't expect was the announcement of a stunning remake of Shadow of the Colossus, an action-adventure video game created by the legendary Fumito Ueda.

It's also worth noting that what we saw in the trailer rang true to the Spider-Man character; he was constantly looking out for his surroundings, making every attempt to save the city of NY and its people. Since then, PlayStation and Insomniac have been very quiet but don't worry. we now have all of the details you're craving for. Sony's 1st-party catalog has managed to stay strong and relevant during this current console race, which is a trend that will certainly continue during this press conference.

As Sony concentrated exclusively on games, for PS4, PS4 Pro and PSVR, we barely got a sniff of any of the top dogs at the company.

Spider-Man's PS4 venture was a key talking point past year, and Sony clearly has a lot of faith in the game being a big hit with it wrapping up its presentation on Monday.

After all this time, what did you think of the reveal?
