Sony clocks up more than 60m PS4 sales


Sony's E3 2017 press conference was a jam-packed show, featuring plenty of big franchises and exciting new announcements.

The PS4 has not only surpassed the 60-million mark, but Sony also revealed that its console owners have also purchased 487.8 million retail and digital copies. Not much is known about the release date but the trailer does say 2018 at the end and teases newcomer Miles Morales for the game.

Destiny 2's new Red Legion trailer also gave us a sneak peek at some of Destiny 2's PlayStation exclusive content.

The console's nearest competitor remains the Xbox One, and although Microsoft no longer reports on sales numbers, estimates indicate that around 26 million units have been sold as of January 2017. From a gorgeous Shadow of the Colossus remaster, to the new God of War, to Insomniac's stunning Spider-Man, there's was a lot to be excited about.

Sony unveiled a handful of PlayStation VR games, including a few familiar titles like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and some originals. In regards to VR, Sony officially entered the space with its VR headset past year. PS4's Spider-Man game is touted as the best so far, given that Spidey's powers are at full blast, the NY setup serving as a great background, and Miles a sweet addition. The footage stresses on Kratos's journey with his son, Atreus - and as expected, we got to see some heartwarming moments. Enjoy the debut trailer of the game that was showcased at E3 2017.

Sony is also getting on the VR (Virtual Reality) bandwagon, showing plans for their brand new PSVR with an interesting Zelda style game called Moss, which is about the adventures of a mouse.
