Capturing a second title in three seasons in historic fashion has put the Golden State Warriors among some of the NBA's greatest championship squads, overcoming a heartbreaking setback to become even better.

The Warriors, who beat Cleveland in the 2015 Finals only to lose to them past year after squandering a 3-1 series lead, went a record-setting 16-1 in the playoffs, their only loss coming in Game Four of the best-of-seven championship.

"We don't need or want to be talked about", Danny Green once said. Paul George would fit the bill, as he helped IN put up the best showing against the Cleveland Cavaliers IN the playoffs leading up to the NBA Finals by averaging 28 points along with 8.8 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 1.8 steals.

"Just the camaraderie, the togetherness of the whole organization, that's what it was about".

Golden State had a bullseye on Cleveland all year, matching up in the NBA Finals for a record third straight year - one at 12-0, the other at 12-1.

Warriors guard Stephen Curry said, "You've got to call Kevin Durant a champion now".

"I knew it was going to be a battle I just tried to challenge him - you can't stop the guy". He has in effect taken the reigns from Kevin Durant as the most accomplished, still-got-game talent in the National Basketball Association without an National Basketball Association title to list of accomplishments. But, Facebook says the most "Wow'd" post was James' outta nowhere self alley-oop off the backboard in Game 4.

"He's a heck of a player and a really good person, as well", Barry said. They boxed out the opposing team at the foul line and allowed Westbrook to swoop in to grab uncontested rebounds to pad those numbers.

But first, Durant embraced another special someone too. "I have no reason to look back at what I could have done or what I shouldn't have done or what I could have done better for the team". I'm happy for him. Most times it doesn't.

Surprisingly, for me at least, last night was kind of cathartic in a way. "I don't believe we're a super team here".

Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston are all free agents for the upcoming 2017-18 National Basketball Association season.

"Love you, girl, but I got to do it", Durant told USA TODAY Sports as he clutched the MVP trophy.

The Warriors went 15-1 in this year's postseason, with sweeps in the first three rounds before beating LeBron James and the Cavaliers in five games in the Finals.
