Ronaldo willing to leave Real Madrid, say reports

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane broke off his holiday to call Cristiano Ronaldo in a bid to persuade his unsettled star not to quit the club, Spanish sports daily Marca claimed on Sunday. We heard that he will be offered another year at the club but the injury has messed that up.

Real reportedly wanted £70 million for Morata but United will now look to put the 24-year-old Spaniard into a deal with Ronaldo.

United's only signing so far has been Sweden defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica.

"He doesn't want to stay in Spain".

The Guardian also cited a source close to Ronaldo, claiming the megastar was "outraged" and "feels great indignation" at the "injustice".

Despite Ronaldo's relationship with Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho not being flawless during his compatriot's three years in charge at Madrid, former Bernabeu president Calderon believes a reunion could be on the cards.

"I remember when I signed Cristiano, he phoned me and said everyone at Manchester United was really happy and kind to him", he told the Sun.

Ronaldo has helped Real Madrid to two Spanish titles and three Champions League wins during his time at the club. With the rise of Monaco youngster Kylian Mbappe, Madrid will be looking for a swap deal for Ronaldo.

The English giants will be eager to bring Ronaldo back to Old Trafford following his decision to leave Los Blancos.

A move to the Chinese Super League is also a possibility, although Ronaldo is said to want to carry on playing in Europe.

And of course, in annual fashion, this instantly threw up links with a return to Manchester United to work under his former boss José Mourinho ahead of the Portuguese's second season in charge, which unsurprisingly left vast amounts of supporters sceptical.

After AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma announced that he would not renew the contract with the Serie A club, the Italian side can make a move for Manchester City's Joe Hart, who played for Torino on loan last season.
