SUPERGIRL Co-Creator Departs As The CW Promotes Two New Showrunners

Following the departure of co-creator and co-showrunner Ali Adler to CBS, The CW has announced a shake-up of its showrunners for the upcoming third season of the DC superhero show Supergirl.

Both Queller and Rovner joined the series midway through the first season when it was still on CBS.

Queller and Rovner joined the series halfway through season one as co-executive producers. Queller is now also being promoted to executive producer, joining fellow exec producers Kreisberg, Greg Berlanti, Rovner and Sarah Schechter.

Queller and Rovner will work alongside Andrew Kreisberg as co-showrunners, reports Deadline.

On a brighter note, she is reportedly expected to remain as the show's consultant. Rovner was elevated to executive producer at the beginning of Season 2. Promoting Queller seems to be a logical move, with her impressive resume spanning countless years. While the latter previously served as the co-executive producer, the former was the series' consulting producer. Rovner's previous credits include Private Practice and TNT's Dallas; Queller got her start with Felicity and Gossip Girl. We just hope, however, that this will not fall into the trap of having "too many cooks in the kitchen" as it could jeopardize the future of the show.

Returning to The CW on Monday, October 9th at 8 p.m. ET/PT, Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as the Girl of Steel, David Harewood as Martian Manhunter, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers and Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott, with appearances by Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant and Tyler Hoechlin as Superman.
